Promotional pictures of REDGUM RGGB Gold Banana Plugs

These pictures show the plugs attached to the REDGUM Expressive Line Speaker Cable

(There are some more thoughts below about the cable.)

We have tried to show the units from a multiple of angles to reveal as many details as possible

We have also used variations of lighting to simulate the subtle changes in finish due to lighting conditions

And the cable......?
REDGUM  'Expressive line' - High Damping-Factor Loudspeaker Cable - better than 1.9 milliohm/meter - Manufactured in Australia.

This 10mm copper speaker cable has been specifically chosen to match the high damping-factor found in all REDGUM amplifiers.

Let's rethink whether copper cable should be stepped over in favour of silver.

Consider the Resistance of 10mm cable at room temperature:

Element  Electrical resistance (ohm/meter) % change
Silver 0.001586
Copper 0.001678  5.5% higher resistance
Gold   0.00224  30% higher resistance
Aluminium  0.002655  40% higher resistance
Platinum  0.0105 85% higher resistance

So, a copper wire 5.8% thicker than a silver one will have EXACTLY the same resistance.... hmmmmm.....

International price on silver is around $US4.50/oz = $US 72.00/lb

International price on Copper is around $US 0.76/lb

In sum, silver is only a better conductor by  6%, but with a 9500% higher price... hmmmmm.....

OR...

For the same $$$ you can have a 10mm copper cable or only a 0.1mm silver one!!!!

Interesting choices, hmmm?!
