REDGUM Dual Mono Remote Control

The world’s only Dual Mono Remote Control

Your new REDGUM Stereo Amplifier will have this unique Dual Mono Remote Control fitted at the time of construction … unless your Inner Purist prefers to manually adjust the Dual Mono volumes. In that case, just let us know that a manual Dual Mono version is preferred.

And it really is just what the family expected! This Remote Control operates like any normal “Vol Up/Down” remote control, as well as giving you full control over both Dual Mono volume controls, if and when you choose. In the meantime, you will give no thought to the fact that it is actually operating 2 separate/Dual Mono amplifiers!

Time to fully express all that glorious imaging that has lain dormant in your music. Till now!

(Released in 2007, retro-fitting to some earlier models is possible, for an additional cost.)

The perfect resolution for the Dual Mono Purist with a hidden Inner Couch Potato.

Your new REDGUM Stereo Amplifier will have this unique Dual Mono Remote Control* fitted at the time of construction … unless your Inner Purist prefers to manually adjust the Dual Mono volumes. In that case, just let us know that a manual Dual Mono version is preferred.

Features:

In “Couch Potato” mode
Business as usual – Volume Up, Volume Down.

But, if you would like to check that the balance is centralised, one button press sets the volume controls to match. This means the 2 separate volume controls/pots are physically matched to within 0.1dB, and at best 0.01dB!!!!!!! All done automatically within less than 2 seconds by smoothly repositioning, checking and recalibrating the controls up to 200 times!

In “Dual Mono Purist” mode on the couch
Pressing either the L or R arrow button to independently adjust the volume also effectively creates a balance, for your speakers, in your space! Dual Mono at its best!!

With your preferred (quasi-)balance set, then when the Up/Down Volume buttons are pressed, that difference between the channels remains i.e. regardless of the starting position of each Volume control, the volume level for both channels increases or decreases together, thus holding your chosen Dual Mono positioning.

… and after the “kids” have fiddled with the remote
Having kids around can add some mischief to the Audio experience, so REDGUM’s Dual Mono remote has an additional automatic feature. Consider, for example, if the kids turn off the amplifier with the volume at “neighbourhood demolition” level, you will not be aware of what danger awaits your speakers (or ears) when you reach for the remote again! So, the next time the amplifier is turned on via the remote, the volume controls will immediately and automatically seek a lower, safer volume level.

This adjustment will take place whether one or both of the volume controls are set at a vastly excessive level.

This automatic check will also occur straight out of the box – the first time the unit is plugged in and switched on. From then on, it is a quick review (if you wish) to centralise the balance before adjusting the Volume, or straight on to “Dual Mono Purist” mode where once again you are fully in charge of the speaker balance and volume from the comfort of the couch.

… but with more Memory than the kids …
Whether you are turning on the amplifier for the first time today, or just returning to a previously used input selection, the REDGUM Dual Mono Remote remembers the Volume level and L/R balance last used for that input, and will immediately go back to those positions (unless judged excessive, as per above). No need to re-set the Dual Mono/Balance! Using non-volatile/Flash memory, this unique feature is absolutely invaluable for when your various inputs have differing gain levels.

… But, wait! There’s more! …
Personalise your flexibility of use via your choice of settings! Easily accessed, the REDGUM Amplifier Control Option firmware offers a multi-page Menu system. To cut to the chase, the page of greatest interest is usually the ‘Selector Switching’ Menu whereby you can optimise how the volume controls behave when a new input is selected; for example, Professional Fade versus Silent change. Other favourites: Power Up sounds v’s none; Mute with/out memory. You are the boss.
